Blog Post - Week 7
This past week in my own teaching I felt a little disconnected which prompts my question to you, "What was the moment (or moments) when I felt most disconnected or disengaged as a teacher - the moment(s) I said to myself, I'm just going through the motions here?"

Fall Semester 2015 Blog - Week 1

Describe something you used in your program in the first weeks of school that you learned in the summer NTI program. How did it work? Did it get you off to a stronger start than last year?

My initial weeks of the 2015/2016 school year have been much smoother than last year, especially in the classroom. I believe having the pre-prepared lesson plans, an in-box, classroom rules poster, and many other ideas have contributed to my success. Students have really responded well to the in-box, I have referred back to my classroom rules on several occasions, and overall I feel much more confident.

This is a great idea with the in-box. I think I have the way to construct one. I will try to create one next week.

I really like the in-box idea which is why I use it in the summer NTI. It is one less thing I have to worry about. Really, teaching can be so overwhelming sometimes with all that we do. Anything I can turn into a routine for the students makes life easier for me and for them as well. I am less crabby and exhausted at the end of the day :)
