Weekly Check-in

Hi Everyone,

Happy Monday to each of you and I hope all is going well. For some reason I am still confused. I have yet to get a complete understanding of the assignment nor where it can be found. I went to eChalk and registered only to receive a call from a salesperson (while I was at school). After reading the email from Dr. J today, I am even more lost as it relates to the feild assignment. Can anyone send me out a life preserver...or a Raft...or even the Coast Guard for a S&R mission??;) ~aj

Football Programs

I did not realize that a part of my duties here was to put out the football program. It nearly killed me. I worked so hard on that thing and to teach as well. It's over now and I made the deadline so I'm happy. The program was 96 pages and had over 100 ads in it. The school actually approved a sub for me because of all the work. I was pulling my advanced students away from other classes and working through lunch and at home until 3am. It was crazy.

Looks like you all are blogging up a storm. My year is going well, I think. Classes are now finalized. First progress reports go out tomorrow. Using alot of NTI information, but still never enought time to do it all. Sept 10th will be here very quickly- looking forward to catching up

Good Evening All,

All is still going well and I am still as excited as ever. Everyday I am applying everything I learned in NTI. I can not believe I am conducting safety quizzes before a lab. YAY ME!!! and my students are excited about the opportunity. Well enough about me...uh can anyone tell me the homework/assignment? For the most part I am trying to stay afloat by checking in on a regular basis. Between this blog an the required one for my program I am getting a lot of extra practice. 2nd week of school

My students are angles is this just an act to later in the year it's to good to be true. We are having great fun they all did great on their first test and career projects.I was so surprise!!!!!!!!

Well survived my second week. So far, so good. My Culinary I students are really excited about all of the new changes but the new kids seemed to be annoyed by all of my organization. I think they liked my craziness before. Fortunally for them I am still crazy just an organized chaos.

guest speaker

I had a guest speaker today from OSHA. He scared the kids to death(which was the intention) regarding safety. He had short video clips of bad accidents and still pics from accident scenes. He had great statictics to share. The kids in all five classes never muttered a word! Safety is just plain boring to listen too usually but this guy hit it out of the park. My admin stopped in to observe and was very impressed. A good day it was.............................Wood

Well, I went in this morning and took no prisoners. My class size is being adjusted and I now have a nice shiney projector. A few other issues were tossed around that we may have a solution for coming soon. Squeaky wheel gets the grease I supposed........and boy you should have heard the squeaking I was doing!!!!! Now the real class can begin. Lets do this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone!! Am I just clueless or what??? I looked yesterday and didn't see an assignment, but if it's to say "hey" to everyone, then "hey!" I'm into my second week now, and boy is it crazy!! Class size??

Hi folks. Are any of you having problems with administration putting more kids in your class than is allowed. I am aware that Paulding county has asked for a waiver to put 35 kids in any class. I do not have the room for more than 28. Honestly, I don't think I can mange 35 kids in a shop setting. Well, more later. Thanks y'all,

New career---wow lots of work!

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is off to a great start. I am the new teacher checking in. Wow. I am so prepared to managed the instructional part of my classroom but someone should have told me about all the administrative stuff that comes with it.
I don't feel overwelmed but I am off to bed late, up early, and doing some type of work nearly constantly. I think it's the new school, new teacher thing.

I am really, really enjoying the students and the classroom interactions.

OMG!!! NTI Saved my life. This has been like the best week ever. I am happy to see Friday no doubt but this week has been terriffic!! Thank you soooo much NTI Staff!

Wow, it has been a crazy week. I was absolutely bombarded at open house. My room looked like there was a free winning lottery ticket giveaway in progress. I am really having fun with the students and they are learning. I'm keeping it from bell to bell and it feels good. I am so together I have time to BLOG thanks NTI program this has been wonderful.

First day back at school I'm excited!!! I miss everyone!!!!

Two more weeks and counting! I've been able to get in my classroom last week and this week.
Been using rubber gloves and lots of Pine Sol. It's coming together. I'll be attending new teacher orientation the rest of this week. Looking forward to getting started.
