Rules For Posting To This Blog and Weekly Blog Question

1. Only use your first name (no last names, addresses, IM screen names, etc.)
2. Show respect and consideration of others when posting and commenting. This includes individuals, students, organizations, political parties, colleagues, etc.
3. Check all posts for spelling and grammar errors before posting.
4. Protect the privacy of others. Gain permission from other people before you write about them. Avoid sharing someone else's last name. Use job titles or pseudonyms when writing about experiences with your co-workers or students.
5. Watch your language. Use politically correct and non-offensive language.
6. Make sure you write about things that are factual.
7. Keep your postings education-oriented. Avoid discussing plans for the weekend, etc.

This week I would like you to use your imagination. You have just won the lottery and will leave your teaching post immediately to travel around the world. "Are We There Yet?"

I think that my personal values have very little affect on the evaluation process. My evaluations are created after everything else has been completed. The evaluations are a reflection of the lesson objectives and course objective and are reflective of the lesson goal. The objectives are also the basis of the lesson plan. After a lesson has been completed the evaluation is to check and see if you have arrived at the destination that you announced at the start of the lesson. It’s like getting on a plane and the pilot announces that we are going to ATL, the flight is the lesson, the evaluation is when you get off you should be in ATL not LAX. If you can’t verify that you are at that location , there is a problem somewhere.

Yes I do agree with you. Your evaluation must be objective, and not carry a value judgement. Most of our classes are very skills based, so there is little of our personal values that need to go into the evaluation process. If there was,I think that I would have to take a second look at my teat.
