Cell Phones, IPODs, etc.

I wish our principal would just ban cell phones, IPODs, and all other electronic devices from school. He allows the kids to use them in the commons area before the morning bells rings. When the bell rings, they are to turn them off and put them away until the 3:30pm bell rings. Of course, the kids are constantly text messaging, threading their ear plugs through their sleeves, or just walking down the hall checking their messages.

This causes all kinds of ugly confrontations and write-ups.

I think it would just be better all the way around to just ban cell phones and all electronic devices from the campus. Period.

I agree with you. All electronics should be banned during school hours. Some kids take advantage of a little freedom and take it into the classroom. I have caught several kids text messaging and using ipods. It can be aggravating.

It's cool to know how I'm not the only one experiencing this same problem. I agree 100000000000! They should be banned from schools! I am going to send an e-mail to my principal today giving my suggestion! Thanks Connie!

I agree with you. When I take phones the students will tell me that it was there parents and I tell them that a parent should not be calling them during class or texting them. You would think that the parent should know better and they wonder why their children aren't learning anything in class. I feel that if it is an emergency then the parent needs to call the school or come to the school. BAN THE CELL PHONES AND ALL ELECTRONIC DEVICES!!!!!
