OFF AND RUNNING

Hello class

The year has started and things have gone well thus far. I must say, that I though it would be a whole lot more stressful than it actually has been. I added another course this year, Public Safety III, Introduction to Law, which has been very interesting. My kids have done a wonderful job attempting to learn how to prepare good, quality and convincing "OPENING ARGUMENTS" in court. Students have really been interested, because they ALL believe that they can win every case.

From a discipline standpoint, I have implemented the use of the officer system in my class, allowing all students to be held accountable for their actions. This process has worked well. We go to court every WEDNESDAY, which is where students go before a jury of their own peers to account for their actions. The punishment that is issued is the final and the desire to not to want to appear in court before those mean kids anymore. IT'S BEEN A GREAT DETERRANCE....

Wow! you'll have to tell us more about the use of the officer system in your class. Sounds interesting.

Congrats on implementing the officer technique in your classroom. As a stellar sub, I sometimes get to talk to the teacher that I am subbing for beforehand and will ask her to designate a class helper that she trusts to give me info in case she may have forgotten something. This works well when I am in doubt about something.

Keep up the GREAT work,
V

Toni! you really have a creative mind. You never failed to present some great ideas. What type of punishments are given and do they rebel?
