Please write a post about the following question, "In thinking about my past week teaching what is one thing I would do differently, and why?"
One thing I have been trying to do differently is not take things so personally. I can not control how people perceive my program or CTAE as whole. I can not control the way others respond to our "required trips" and competitions or exposing our students to opportunities they would not other wise be exposed to. I can not control that people are surprised that we have pathway completers that pass the EOPA, though no student had ever passed engineering at our school before I came. But I can stop internalizing other peoples opinions and that is what I WILL do differently for now on!

Yes, I would agree with you at first, I thought that what people said made me feel like I was a horrible teacher and thought about it for a long time. I had a student tell me that I should not be a teacher and find another profession. I have quickly learned that students try to figure you and see where you come from. I am a person that takes things to personally, but I know in the future that I will do better.
