Rules For Posting To This Blog and Weekly Blog Question

1. Only use your first name (no last names, addresses, IM screen names, etc.)
2. Show respect and consideration of others when posting and commenting. This includes individuals, students, organizations, political parties, colleagues, etc.
3. Check all posts for spelling and grammar errors before posting.
4. Protect the privacy of others. Gain permission from other people before you write about them. Avoid sharing someone else's last name. Use job titles or pseudonyms when writing about experiences with your co-workers or students.
5. Watch your language. Use politically correct and non-offensive language.
6. Make sure you write about things that are factual.
7. Keep your postings education-oriented. Avoid discussing plans for the weekend, etc.

Open-Mic Week

Such a Good Week!

This week started out so AWESOME! Took my second year students on a field trip to see Dennis Stokely, he was Paula Abdul’s hairdresser for the last three years that she was on American Idol. They all dressed appropriately and followed all of my instructions. One of my students was chosen to be a model for him and got to go on stage. I was so happy that she was chosen. Afterwards, we took them to eat lunch at Golden Corral. They were so well behaved. Was a good day.

The next day I played a Kahoot game with all my classes as a review for their end of Unit test. They really had a GREAT time and so did I. The following days the students were given their first BIG test in my class. They all did really, really well. Everyone Passed!

I am also glad I am finally to a place where I have taught them a practical application that they can do in the salon and we will start another new practical application by the end of the month. It really is neat teaching them some of the basic skills of my profession and seeing them enjoy it.

I am so happy to hear that all of your students passed the first big test! I wish I could say that about my students. I love playing kahoot. We are actually playing that in three of my classes today for a review.; October 12, 2015 at 12:06:00 PM EDT
