This week I feel proud to have followed in my grandfathers footsteps in teaching and in coaching a sport. I was out of the state from Thursday of last week, until yesterday, attending my Papa's funeral in Farmerville, Louisiana. I actually spoke at the funeral, on behalf of him, and how he is such an inspiration to me. He dies last Tuesday, at the age of 85. He is a lifelong educator and baseball coach. This year is the first year he has been without this job. His students from recent and past years came to the viewing and to the funeral. Some of their comments were magnificent. I realized how proud I am to have followed his teaching role, and hope that one day to have accomplished everything he has.
