Question of the Week Response for September 15th

The things that I would do differently Is to be prepared for unexpected events that occur during class such as announcements or an excessive number of students missing from class due to field trips.  I had a lesson to teach, but did not want to teach the material as planned on that day because so many of my students would have missed it.  I did not want to use an emergency lesson plan, so I needed to have a lesson that would still be interesting and meaningful.  In the future, I will create small lessons that will reinforce the current material for each unit for "just in case days" such as that day.  I want to prevent kids from thinking they will have a class of playtime because there are a lot of students absent.
