"Of everything I did this week in my teaching, what would I do differently if I had the chance to do it again, and why?"
Honestly, time-management is a real issue for me. I believe I work well in the classroom yet outside of the classroom, I struggle. I'm really enveloped in my "new career" and I feel like my family is lacking because of it. I bring a lot of work home whereas an RDH, I worked a daily schedule and left. The sad part is, I do not feel like I am half as dedicated as many of my cohorts whom have "extended day" schedules. Trying to find the "balance" has probably been the BIGGEST challenge for me. I've gone from working 4 days a week to 5 days a week, and my commute nearly tripled. On the flip-side, I'm home early enough to join my family for MOST of their extracurricular activities, and I'm off when my kids are out of school.
I'm not really sure what I'd change...Open to suggestions. :o/

ReplyDeleteWhen I began teaching three years ago I found that I spent a lot of time preparing for class, and really believed that I sucked at this job. Looking back I see that I am dedicated to do the right job. So congrats you are a caring teacher :-) it does get smoother ( I've been told)
