"...... asking the wrong question.” After pondering the quote a bit I think my understanding is that if ask a poor question you can't be surprised by a poor answer. However the worst is ...." crickets". When you ask what you think is pretty simple question and you hear nothing at all. Did I phrase that wrong, did we not go over this, are they sleepy..... Where did I go wrong? It's helpful, however,
so that you can get a better handle on how to phrase questions for your class. I find that each class differs too.
Diane, "crickets" are the worse, they are more like grasshoppers in my class. I am struggling with ensuring that i ask "higher-level" questions and yet when I do that, this is when I get the insect sounds! I am trying to develop different questions and styles of questions to ensure the success of all of my students.
