What Do I Want to Improve Most........
As a relatively new teacher, I feel that I am constantly second guessing myself because I do not have the "years" of experience that other teachers have. I look at the veteran teachers and they seem to know all of the the ins and outs of the system from knowing who to call in the IT department to knowing which report to pull for a staff meeting. I am still learning how to use the Promethean board correct, so I am very behind on the "politics" or the who to know. That being said, I would most like to improve my overall time management. I feel that the overwhelming tasks of grading, assessments, staff meetings, HOSA meetings, tutorials, and all the other "business" aspects of teaching often leave me unprepared for instruction. I would like to be prepared to give more to my students when I am in front of them instead of wondering when I am going to have time to get all the business done. I will get it right one day, but right now its hard.
Akisa, I knew that you would be the first to post because YOU ROCK :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you one hundred percent. I see and hear teachers around me and it sounds like they have it all together. This is not just the experienced teachers either. I ask myself sometimes, how in the world do they remember all the things they do.
You are good and will get there.
Akisa,
ReplyDeleteI am with you on this. I am reminded daily of how inexperienced I am as a teacher. When I look back though, we can say we are better than we used to be but if you agree with me, we are not near what we should be. However, we are so much better prepared than so many teachers, I am confident that with the tools we have been introduced to and strategies we have been learning, we are over the hump of our foundational training. I think this coming summer will be my most productive in regard to planning. With that, I will have more time for the 'business' of time management with what our systems require. It is hard, but we will get it right...one day (very soon). Just remember, it's a growing way. (Great post!)
