Change for the week
Of everything I did this week in my teaching I would change or do differently would to explain my lesson to students better. This week students were given notes, lecture, and videos about police operation. I felt that many of my student did not get all of the information that they need in a weeks time for the lesson. I would go back break each part of the lesson down and make it into a two week course. I would also take the lesson and create more hands on activity so students can be more active in the classroom lesson. I seen that there are lessons that will need to take more time to explain or go into more detail.
I feel like this all the time! I try to have a set guide for how long the entire lesson will take for me to complete and I find myself often moving at a pace where the students appear to understand, but are unable to retain the information, particularly in an assessment. So my philosophy is SLOW DOWN Akisa!! Maybe you should adopt one of your own Officer Huffman
ReplyDeleteI have found that they retain the information in small bites, I use the three Cs (Concern,Cause and Correction) in every class,by expecting them to apply three simple tasks I have found that they can solve more complicated problems with ease.
