Evaluations with Students
Evaluations are used to determined knowledge learned. Also evaluations show me what I need to focus on in class. I'm glad I know more about evaluations such as qualitative and qualitative. It's so important to know its' not a perfect instrument to measure performance. Students and teacher can be evaluated on varies ways. Some students and teachers may be limited on test or psycho motor skills. Now, I know the different types of forms for evaluation all student can show their abilities. It's difficult not to impose my own beliefs and values on students performance but I will try to separate the two. Hopefully, through evaluations we can become better teachers as students become better learners.
Angel...I agree a variety of evaluations are truly the way to go. So many students are not great "written" test takers, but do well in a practical environment. Some do better in oral presentations, but could not sit down and do well on a written test. It is our job not to put a square peg in a round hole. We must fit all the pieces together properly and as we go along maybe re-shape a few.
ReplyDeleteI personally love evaluations because they keep the students on their toes, and lets them know that you can be tested at any moment. I also love showing students how to prepare themselves for the unexpected. This helps them to become masters of their trade, to avoid embarrassment, and most of all to just plain ol become the best !
