The most important thing I learned as an NTI student, thanks to Dr. M's visit, is that I was working too hard as an instructor. Never even thought that I was working too hard but after Dr. M's assessment it has help me tremendously.

  1. Ant,

Unfortunately, I don't think I have ever been titled as a teacher who works too hard. Maybe that's a good thing. Dr. M is right. I believe being a teacher is our life calling, but it should not consume our life. I believe being properly balanced in our lives makes us more effective teachers. I think my students knowing that my life doesn't revolve around them, but around my family, helps them see me as a true person and not just a authority figure. I guess my advice to you is to take Dr. M to heart. He is a very wise man.
