Is their Hope for the Parents?
The most important thing I learned about parents this semester is they don't want to be involved with their child. The parents want the students to teach themselves how to be responsible and handle adult responsibilities. The parents doesn't support the student nor the teacher. It's just a few parents who call to check on their child's progress. The sad thing about it is that the students know their parents are not concern about their school academics. I pray the parents wake up today before it's absolutely too late.
Your view about parents is something that is true and something that I failed to realize. Unfortunately, some of the kids these days are having to raise themselves. To my dismay, I have many students and parents. But when it comes to parent teacher conference, where are the parents. I may only have 3-5 parents to show for the conferences. Many other parents never call or come by the school at all. Some of them are probably glad that the children are away from them. As a result of the parent behavior or attitude, the children or generation seems to be getting worse. They are very rude and disrespectful. Many others act out in class or with administrators. Parents we need you. Where are you?
