This has been a great year. It is amazing how when all of the components of a team are in place what can be achieved. This year our administrative staff has a great balance. The discipline side of the equation is firm but fair and supports the teaching staff without any disrespect to the students and their feeling of being heard. The other side of the coin is an administrator that has a heart as big as Atlanta! The two of them make for a great balance and has made this year a great one so far!!
Looking forward to year 3, They say it only gets better!
Scott,
ReplyDeleteObviously we were in the same class this week because I am in that "year 3" mode as well. I am excited to realize that as a first year school, we are experiencing a significant amount of balance as well. Friday was "spirit day" at my school and the principal made multiple announcements prior to Friday clarifying what spirit wear SHOULD consist of. Needless to say, a number of students reported to school in none qualifying spirit wear. As promised, those students were assigned ISS. I personally escorted 3 top students to ISS. It is extremely important for the students of this new school to understand that their individuality is respected within the guidelines established by the county and the school. This was a tough lesson but one much required because in life we have the privilege of individuality within the boundaries of those established by the authority in which we exist. I hope you continue to have a great year!
