This past weekend was the Skills USA State Competition. I am proud to say that one of my students won the Architectural Drafting competiton!! So we are off to Kansas City this summer for Nationals. Our Skills USA club also won third place in Technical Drafting, and Automotive Service Technology. It was a fantastic and enjoyable weekend. Skills USA state competition is a well organized event!
Hi Brandon,
ReplyDeleteI like to congratulate you and your students for making it to the National Skills USA competition. I know how you must feel about this accomplishment. Last year my students made it to the National FBLA competition that was held here in Atlanta Georgia. I’m sure that your students will have a terrific time and at the same time gain valuable experience during the competition. I hope this will bring more recognition to your program.

Congrats, even though we didn't place this past weekend it was another learning experience for my students. Have fun at nationals.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Brandon! Make sure you do go with your student to KC as the National Competition is awesome! I went many times over my career (National Winner in 1980) and it is one of the most inspiring events you will ever attend as a CTE teacher. All new teachers (and older, burned-out ones) need to attend to see our CTE youth at their finest.
ReplyDeleteTake lots of pix and hang all over your classroom and lab as it is a great motivator for your next batch of students, and make copies of student certificates and start a Wall of Honor from competitions such as this. In no time, you will have an impressive display for all to see and for all new students to strive for. Good luck and let us know how you'all do!
