Open Mic....... PBL Projects

My teaching experience has many rewarding moments as a result of the many teaching tools I have gained from attending NTI @ GSU. All of the strategies have provided with successful teaching. Project Based Learning seems the most rewarding for the students. Earlier this year “The Industry Academy” prepared an entry for the Floyd County Fair and won Fourth Place, a first. The project was about mining and manufacturing on Mars. The project proved very rewarding for the students and a lot of work. Their current project is to build rockets and compete among 4 teams. They have defined the criteria and rules for the event. There has been a lot of learning going on among all of us, from rules and regulations to the technical considerations. This will continue to be part of my teaching strategy.

Thanks,

  1. Hi, Ron - congrats on the Floyd County award and I am sure there are many more to come. If you haven't already, you may want to consider creating a 'Wall of Fame', where you display copies of certificates, awards, etc., of student achievements at events such as the county fair. Pretty soon you will have an impressive display that incoming students will notice and strive for. Great work!
