Doesn't take a rocket scientist....

to figure out why I left my former career. Between working 10 hours a day for the last 10 years of a dealership, plus operating my race engine shop for 3-6 more hours every afternoon and weekend....I was a little burnt out. I made really great money, but knowing what I know now, money isnt everything. I needed a way out, but I had too much experience to simply throw it away by switching fields. My career now allows me to pass on my knowledge and be in the field I want to be in without the backaches.

I signed my contract because I love it! Hell, Ive got 27 more contracts to sign! Might better get used to it. I will have my job until I'm ran off.

There is little reason to think you will ever be "ran off". You are obviously are a master in your field, and you have the students best interests at heart. My hope for you is that your school atmosphere calms down so that your life will be a little easier.

  2. I totally feel you about being burnt out. I was at a job where I wasn't going anywhere, they took everything from you and was never appreciated for the extra work you did. I realized early that the money wasn't everything, I needed some piece of mind. Now, I can't say I have piece of mind because of the kids always calling my name, but I feel much better. I used to have anxiety attacks about going to my previous job. It started out fun and after a while, I just out right dreaded it. I agree with Joe, there is little reason to think they will run you off.
