Only 5 more days to Spring break ( 4/7-11/08 ). We attended HOSA competitions and I got a chance to be an event manager for HOSA bowl. The students that participated in this event were really sharp. They were well versed in many areas. We did not have any winners this year but I will get a chance to go to Dallas for the National Conference. Atlanta Public schools has close to 20 students attending National ( Parli-Pro,Interviewing Skills and Creative Problem Solving ).
Initially, it was said APS would not pay for the students to go to Nationals this year. Last week we were told, APS will pay for the students to attend National. This was a surprise to us but also a BLESSING for the students attending.
WOW!! AMEN to Spring Break! And for me, it's not like I'll have any sort-of vacation because I just bought a new home! BUT...it will be the best type of "working" week I can think of! Painting, pictures, etc. So uhhh, I say again, "AMEN to Spring Break!" The natives are restless as it were as well!
ReplyDeleteMan, I know how you feel....although, I just thought we were counting down the days until Spring Break and here you are...keeping track of the END OF YEAR days! Nice...and thanks! Ya know, I find it VERY interesting how fast the year seems to cruise by when you literally have to plan every day of the year (-summers!) Seriously, I feel like I'm getting older quicker cause it always like the mid-point and year-end point just creep up on ya! Mercy.
ReplyDeleteThis is great that APS is paying for these kids. It's about time someone woke up and realized that the expenses keep many students out of activities like this. While I'm still not a fan of HOSA (Don't get me on my soapbox started again) I do think students need activities like HOSA to stay involved in.
