I really enjoyed seeing everyone in class yesterday. I think that every person in this class is a great teacher. I can see how each of you really care for your students and seeing this encourages me as I continue in my path.
I really enjoyed watching "When The Chips Are Down". I am going to try my best to give as many chips as I can to these kids because I know that so many of them do not receive them at home. I want to keep in mind this philosophy and hopefully I can make a difference in this world that I live in. I am sure that is probably why most of us entered this profession is to make a difference. Let's never give up no matter how tired we are, we cannot, we must not give up.

This seems to fit my philosophy."Raise them up a little each day". My idea is that we are responsible for helping them develop both work skills and ethics/morals. A lot of students are so beat down by both parents and the system by the time they get to us, they are "worn-out". Fight the good fight!

I think that this was the best video in the series.This video not only applies to special needs kid but to most anyone.Like I pointed out yesterday this would be a good video to watch before you have kids of your own.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Steve, all parents need to see this video. This video should be included in the child birth classes that expectant parents have to attend. Birthing the child is the easy part. It's all the rest of their lives that's the hard part. And this video would help all parents to raise healthier and happier kids.
I agree with all of you. Your words are all very inspiring. I felt the same way Steve did after watching "When the Chips are Down" for the first time. I wanted to go back an "redo" some of my parenting bloopers. This message in this video applies to life. It makes you want to be a better person, a better teacher, and a better parent.
