This club thing!
Do any of you out there feel like the club you are in charge of is taking over your teaching job? If so, what club and why?
Last year, I let the club thing stress me and this year I refuse. I am participating, but I am limiting my duties. We all are suppose to participate with the club that falls under our area. Well Skills USA is mine. I like the concept, but I do not feel a connection at any of the conferences. I'll have to explain later. In Clayton County, we have been threaten that if we don't do what we are suppose to do with our clubs we will not received 1/2 extended day. I had to explain to them that I am not doing this for the money. I will do what I can but you will not hold money over my head. It's a lot of work. Just do what you can. The clubs are suppose to be student led. Let them come up with the agenda and conduct the meetings. That's what I do.

ReplyDeleteMortissa,
ReplyDeleteAmy advise and help with Skills USA will be greatly appreciated.
What should I expect and what events should I have my students compete in?
How much should I get involved with?
