Profanity!

So many of my kids are in great need of a mouth washing! I've decided to award detention slips to all who can't hold their tongues. I'm beginning to realize that we may be the only people available to teach these kids some common decency. What thoughts could you share on the subject?

  1. Hey Dwayne,
I agree with the profanity-it is out of control! My students have gotten a little better than they started out, but it has took both of the two years I've been teaching. I constantly am telling them that I will not listen to or allow this profanity! There is definately a need for some respect for other people and respect for themselves. I don't know if they are allowed to talk this way at home or even if this may be the only kind of talk they hear at home. But we can't allow this to continue in our public schools. Hope all is well.- Riley

  2. language is bad at all schools,if I wrote up everyone that uses bad language I would only have half of my students left. What I try to do is when I here a bad word I interject a different word they could have used.It seems to be helping. They are starting to catch themselves and interject the word themselves.
