My Thanks Free Consultants

During our first NTI of the year, I was given some useful tips for learning student's names. Well, I use my seating chart in order of the roster (a few exceptions for vision) and it has worked well! In addition, I put an emphasis on 1st names, instead of 1st AND last, and that has helped as well...again, thanks for those words of wisdom

  1. I'm glad one of the strategies you learned at NTI has worked well with learning your students names. I always played a game with my students to learn their names. It was called "Quiz the Teacher". During the first week of classes, I would try to recall the names of all the students in all of my classes. The students were allowed to give me hints if I struggled with any names, and they were allowed to score me. It delighted them to see me in the "hotspot", and I think it helped build a supportive and collaborative classroom environment.
