We of CTAE and our Perkins

Why should we, in CTAE fight, for Perkins money? Well, quite frankly, because its ours! It was created for us. Rather, for our students. The need for support in the career tech area is clear to us but not-so-much by many. We have all seen it, academic teachers looking down their noses at our students. Many administrators neither stop in to see how we are doing nor ask what we are in need of. We don't show them how to throw footballs, run in ovals, twist opponents into pretzels on a mat, or lob orange orbs into elevated circles. That means our programs are somewhat lackluster to the masses. Perkins helps us re-balance the listing ship. Perkins gives us resources to support our operations. It may pale in the face of even a few night's gate receipts but we will take it, we need it, and we will put it to good use for our students.
