Becoming a Master Teacher

Being an automotive instructor, and trying to get my basic certification, I never thought really about perusing a Master certification in teaching. I know that as you progress through the process of degrees it seems to help the paycheck. But that is not the reason to obtain such a certification. I have thought about trying to do something to improve my teaching status, but have not made any decisions. Right now it is hard enough to get through NTI much less try and devote that kind of time into a Masters or Doctorate. Also I like others have to consider how I'm going to pay for four more years of collage or how ever long it takes, but nevertheless financially I could not even venture the guess. I would love to have that certification hanging on the wall and be able to improve my education for myself as well as my students who I'm sure would benefit from it. I was just thinking of the notion on my long ride to work and would love to be called Dr. Dallas, man how cool would that be. Just the name makes you feel and people relize that you are an educated person not just pion working for a school. Teacher make you sound smart but a Masters or Doctorate make you sound eduacted. Yes I think when I can get it worked out I will persue my Masters.
Also sorry for the late entry, did not have internet connection due to the storm and our school computers are being updated.

  1. Well Doctor Dallas!! That does sound good does it not? This past Friday I was told by a parent that I was nothing but a flat tire fixer last year, that I didn't teacher her child a thing. I just bit my tongue during the meeting wondering to myself when do you walk out. If I had my Doctorate in Life Studies she would take me seriously. Oh, well! The end of meeting went well and she sent me a nice calm email yesterday. Good luck on your future studies.
