Interview
I think it is a wonderful idea to interview faculty from different positions at school. I am looking forward to interviewing one of our counselors to get an insight into what she deals with daily. I have spoken with the different counselors many times with student issues. But I know they do a lot more than just put out fires! My youngest daughter is a junior this year at the school I work at and she has an interest in counseling. So this interview will serve dual purpose. Perhaps the information I gain will help her also in her quest for a career. It is also my hope that this interview will help me to better understand my students and their issues. I am sure that the counselors have a totally different take on my students than I do.
Hi Jayna,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post. Sometimes you have to change your thinking from a teacher to a parent. Many of us with kids have to experience our kids going though the same process as our students. That’s why I feel this assignment will be more than just a grade for this class but will help me to understand how certain data will influence the type of curriculum that your child and students will have throughout their school years. I know that you are as eager I am to learn about this process.

Hi, Jayna - interesting insight into your parental interest in this assignment, which should make the interview even more meaningful and memorable. It would be great to hear what you learned from the interview . . . maybe we'll have another blog question later to addresses that. Enjoy.
