Hello All,
There is an interesting editorial article in today's Atlanta Journal Constitution that weighs in on the value of a college education. I thought it might interest you. There's also a discussion board linked to the article if you'd care to share your opinion on the article and the subject matter of the article with others. I think all of you would have something of value to contribute to this discussion. Here are the links:
The article-- College degree an overrated product
The discussion board-- Is a college degree overrated?
This is an interesting article. I have been contemplating this issue with my 17 year old. She is not a good student and is one that college wouldn't be right for her. I have sent thousands of dollars on a lot of useless knowledge that I haven't ever used beyond college. My husband has a GED and has never gone to any additional classes and makes twice as much as I do as a HVACR technician! We are swimming in debt because of me and my school loans. I'm becoming more and more convinced that non-college related jobs are the way to go. You are less financially stressed, are more independent, and I believe that has to say alot about the person. I'm curious to hear what the rest of you have to say about this!
