When it rains...Dance

Well, reading over some of the post it appears we all facing the same issues. I was in a meeting and said that if corporate America was ran like how we run our schools we would be in worst trouble than we are now.
I can honestly say that I have never had a lot of confidence in Georgia's educational system. We are confused on what is important, and that is educating our young people. We try this, and change that, and at the end of it all we are still ranked in the bottom.

I read a sign that stated, "don't live in the situation," well I now understand what that means. I lived in my situation last school year. I was always frustrated because of lack of leadership, unconcerning students, etc. I teach with a smile, and I go home with that same smile. I am no longer concerned with trying to figure out this broken educational system. I do what I can.

I am sorry I want see you guys Saturday, but I have decided to go headed with seeing a very dear and close friend for nearly 20 years, walk down the isle.

"Live beyond your situation!"

  1. You are so right about just doing what you can do and feeling good at the end of the day that your heart and intention were in the right place. Donna

  2. The CEO of my mother's corporation was a sports coach. Now he's a success coach. He has a great book called "Coach". He is know for saying " all you can do is all you can do and all you can do is enough!" We are all devoted to what we do. There is no doubt in my mind that we go above and beyond. Once we have done that, we have done more than enough. I believe that all I can do, given the system we work in is to affect change in just a special few students. Knowing that they will take that and perhaps go on to affect change in the their peers and maybe the world.

  3. Sabrina I agree with you the education systems sucks with a capital "S". The kids and teachers are the ones who suffer the most. There is so much wastage at the top of the ladder, yet we at the bottom on the last rung are the ones made to feel the pinch. Anyway lets keep dancing daily, do our best no matter what. Dr Burns have given us the tools to dance with - so use them and do not loose sight of your integrity - once you remain professional we can dance the night away - no sweat no guilt.
    Keep your toes pointed!!!
