Need More Hours in the Day!!!!
I need more hours in the day to get through the many things that I have to do. This year has been like work overload for me. I'm usually pretty good about meeting deadlines but with so many things being thrown at me this year. It is SO hard to catch up. I need the two week fall break in December to take some time to get back on track. Am I am the only one feeling like this???Every time I look up I'm out of my classroom to attend meetings, conferences and workshops. I know this is a big year since we are undergoing industry certification but its pulling me in too many different ways. What do I Do?????
Take a couple of breaths, an aspirin and get it done. The conferences and duties add up dont they! I love how some teachers schedule a conference and give a half days notice! I had Skills students staying after school and had to disappoint them twice in the last two weeks due to No Notice from fellow teachers. All I can tell you is to take on one fire at a time. It wont overwhelm you as much as looking at all of them. Knock out one and go to another, prioritize and go!

Hi Keio,
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize with you. There is not enough time to do a lot of things especially when you are bogged down with a lot of paper work. I can only imagine what you are going through with industry certification. Last year some of my coworkers were staying after school until midnight. I hope that you do not have to do the same thing. I have one suggestion for you. Free your mind and the rest will follow in place.

Hi, Keio - good advice from Ken and Bernardo.
ReplyDeleteCan you also ask for freedom from some duties and/or other non-classroom activities until NTI and certification are over? Or can certification be pushed back a year? NTI is a pretty good reason to push it back, and the certification folks may agree. Let us know.

ReplyDeleteI have already tried that. I asked that question last year before I was told that I would have to do it. Seems like it is know way out of it, at this point it is to late!!!!!! I 'll get it done...
