F2F or Online? That is the question.

This is not my first semester with online learning, but I would gladly let it be my last. I am not the type of person who keeps up with assignments very well if they are not right in front of me. I tend to get the work finished, but I don't learn as much if it is self-directed.
I did like the convenience of not having to drive to class every week. Putting and extra 60 miles on my truck every week would have been bank-breaking during the tough gasoline times earlier this semester. I do not like having to do a blog every week. I am not opposed to blogging per se, but I do not like being obliged to write every week.
My perfect mix of online and face-to-face learning would be 90% F2F and 10% online. I am a fan of technology, so I don't want to completely ditch the online aspect, but I learn so much more from the interactions and discussions we have in class.

  1. I totally disagree. I love working online. Not only for the convenience but I can work at my own pace. I think it is all about orgainization.

  2. I completely agree. I think the convenience of less travel time, not having to go to school after an exhausting day are countered by pushing the work off until you are rushing to do the work on the weekend, not having easy access (seeing a person face to face) to clarify and ask questions. I would prefer to stick it out one day a week after school knowing that it is done and I don't have to mess with when to fit it in and frustration with trying to understand the material by myself.

  3. I agree with that too. I can handle one night a week in class. But, then again, our class is on my way home from work. I might feel differetly if I had to travel far and out of my way. But I still perform better in class. I'm not disciplined enough to get on task right away like the other Aimee ;-) [wink]
