I'm curious to know how many of you have been told that you have to "re-vamp" your work ethics rubrics and policies because "you cannot punish a child academically for a behavioral issue"? Also, how can you grade work ethics without double jeopardy? This is a new one for me and they are reiterating it pretty hard this year.
This makes no sense to me unless you there's separate grade category for behavior. I think we were given behavior grades in elementary school. I remember a two column report grade that displayed one column of grades for academic grades and one for behavior grades. Maybe we need to revert to something like that in middle/secondary schools.
