Can I get an IEP?

There have been a lot of positives lately even though I feel insecure about it. I seems difficult to know when to say you have done enough. How many work hours is considered enough? I guess if you have a conscience it says the job is never completed or good enough. Before I always knew when I was finished because the car would be fixed. I guess this is another learning curve that says I am out of my comfort zone. I need an IEP!!!

  1. I know what you mean Gary. My wife has been very frustrated with me on several occasions. "You said that school ends at 3:15 pm right"! It seems that I could stay here forever sometimes and still find ways to improve things. To be honest, for me, it adds to the challenge, making the job more fun. If something isn't working then you have to find a way to make it work. The real satisfaction comes when you see students getting into the work as a result of some new idea you've implemented!

  2. Learning to balance a personal life and school life has been hard for me too. I made a concentrated effort to work on that this year and I have improved. It is necessary to find that balance or in my case I was sure I would burn out and that is not becoming a better teacher.

  3. No hours are ever too many if you can come home and leave it at school, IMO. The only problem with that is, when you put in too many hours you get burnt out. Like a double edge sword. But look at it this way, a double edge sword is still better than a turd that just wont flush, hahahhaha!
