I would like to...Hi, Andrea - very thoughtful post. I would like to add that one of the initial reasons for our programs at the high school level was to help with the dropout rate. It was felt that for the students who did not 'connect' with the traditional classes that our 'real-life' classes would be more meaningful and interesting and offer solid options for students who were on the verge of dropping out, or who were struggling in 'regular' classes. <BR/><BR/>Counselors may be placing students in our programs in the hope that something will click and their interest will be tweaked at least enough to graduate, or, that they will find a meaningful career in your area of specialty. Our challenge is to find a way to bring out that student interest and guide them in the direction of their strengths. It will be interesting to hear how your interview goes.
