Making students as well as their parents happy is a huge challenge that the guidance counselors have to face. I honestly had not considered this factor before reading your post, but students, parents, and even teachers look to them for answers because they do serve in the capacity of a problem-solver. Not only do they have to give answers, but they have to give the "right answers," and in most cases, right is a relative term. For parents, students, and teachers, the "right answer" is one that best fixes their issues, but might not always be best for other parties involved. This has to be tough!
