assumptions......

This is a hard one. I really do not know of an example to give you about an assumption that I have made. I think the only thing that I have assumed was that all other teachers cared as much as I do. I know that sounds terrible but some teachers do not seem to care. Students go through a lot in this era, even more than we know. Sometimes they need a break. They do need boundaries and rules but every student is different and unique. I help sponsor our school's Relay for Life. Now, I assume that the other 120 teachers in the school would come support and help out.... wrong. They could care less. So, I guess I've been let down more by the other adults in the school rather than the kids. Maybe it's because I hold them to a higher standard?? Oh well :)

  1. Becky , I totally understand where you are coming from about the staff. I tried so hard this year to get the other CTAE teacher to get involved in helping to get Skills started at my school. I had 2 other teacher to help but only 1 acctually tried and the male teachers here said OH YEAH. They didn't do anything nor did they let their students know according to them or at least my perception is that this was not a priority because we have existing clubs already. So at this point nothing even the administraion wanted it but I really didn't get much there either just a pat on the back and go a head we would love for you to start it. I just wanted to give them more opprotunitys . I guess we are in a boat alone. Just keep climbing that hill!!
