49 and still going STRONG
"The most important thing I've learned about myself as a STUDENT during the past three semesters in NTI is ...that it is never to late to learn. In fact I am a much better student now than I ever was. When I decided to complete my last semester at NTI I truly was very uncertain about my future. Could I juggle 1 more semester of NTI, work full time, run a youth ministry, raise a family etc.? Yes I could. I believe in myself far more now than I ever have before. I have learned that where there is a will there is a way. I have applied to graduate school for the fall semester. I may or may not ever return as a HS teacher, but instead may move up to the college level to teach with my Master's in Nursing. I think about what NTI has taught me and I cannot help but feel so prepared for the future. 49 and still going strong!!
Agreed it is never to late to learn. I feel as I get older myself, my highschool days are catching up with me and I wish I would have learned to study harder. I have learned to do this later in life and it sure has helped. I have learned more than I ever thought I would and it has shown me that it is never to late to learn something new.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about never too late to learn. As a matter of fact I think that is what keeps people young is the desire to keep learning. I was not ready to go to college right out of high school, and the life I had without college was wonderful. But this life is great too! I love change. Keep going for your dreams!
ReplyDeleteYou are so correct, where there is a will, there is a way. On your way to Grad School - hold on to that thought and you will be just as successful. And try age 54 on for increasing the learning curve -it is forever changing and a never ending process. Going on to GRAD school is a great opportunity because you are already in the mindset. Balancing family, job, & school will be a challenge but you have already worked out the kinks. Best of luck in Grad School
ReplyDeleteI am with you in spirit and AGE ! I think our learning and growing process will be with us until the end of time. But, if we embrace this learning curve, we will be better teachers and individuals all the way around.
