  1. Hi Julie,
I'll tell you what I know. Henry Co Schools has 8 high schools doing clinical. The hospital didn't want to talk to all 8 of us, so we have one nurse who is our spokesperson/coordinator for all of us. She communicates with the director of the education dept at the hospital for clinical dates for us. Then we meet and discuss which school will go when. And of course we all participate in our Advisory Board meetings.

Do you have other HSTE teachers in your school district? I would communicate with them first if you do. If not, then contact the education dept of your hospital.

Our spokesperson/coordinator is also meeting with directors of nusring homes to get things rolling for our students to do clinicals there also.

We also send our students to ride with the fire men for a whole day. The students love that! Call your fire dept and find out how to arrange that with them. My students enjoyed that day with the fire dept more than hospital I think!

I hope this is somewhat helpful. Tracy and Esther can probably explain it all better than I can. But maybe this will at least be a start for you.
