Extended Day Pay
If I had my choice I wouldn't do extended day. The money is good, but the time you spend organizing a club, holding club day, collceting dues, and planning meeting. It's not worth it. I do it for the student to something to get involved.
Extended day is good money but I agree on it being a pain in the butt. Most people see it as simply working in a planning hour after school but what is most often not realized is the fact that its also one more class to plan for really justifying the need for 2 or more hours of daily planning.
I have to agree ,I am on extended day and extended year.I think this is done to help get the pay scale in a range to where someone would leave the professional world to semi-retire to the teaching world. When I get my shop at home a little more profitable, which seems to be just around the corner, I may ask to be removed from the extended year part of the program. You take a teaching job for the "good hours" but you seem to be working all the time.
