Are you in need of inspiration?

I think the end of the semester is often a time of low morale among teachers because we're so exhausted. Some recent posts to the blog seem to be illustrating this, so it's seems somewhat prophetic that this article, The Soul of a Teacher, was on my email doorstep today. I'm so grateful to be able to share it with all of you. I hope you will find this article comforting and insightful, and I hope you can all recharge your batteries over the holiday break to rediscover what inspires you about your teaching lives. Warm regards,

  2. Thanks for this article, Jessie.

Yes, I think November and December are very hard months for most teachers, but for new teachers in particular.

I know for me, the stress and overwhelming tiredness was/is something of a shock. I'm hoping that as time goes on I will learn how to do things better and pace myself better.

I look at teachers who have been teaching for 30 years and I think "Well....surely if they can do it, I can do it too!" I got into teaching late, so I know I don't have 30 years to give. But I hope I can make it for 10 years. We'll see how I do. Stay tuned..... Ha! Ha!

Thanks for the article! It was just what I needed.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
    Love, Connie

  3. Thats a great article! Due to the way my work ethic goes (get it done early so you dont have to worry about it) I usually look foward to the end of the semester because I know that I have knocked out everything that will be needed. But dang, this semester, it seems everyone is out to test me. Ive got all I can handle and more on the way.
