Hey everyone,
I am still trying to recover from Jekyll Island. I did see Trevor and Dr. B. This is my second year, and I am so glad they adjusted the schedule and made time for the students to get to know each other. My biggest concern at Skills is that they should have something more for the advisers. Maybe like some team building exercises. I don't see much interaction outside of our groups. I am glad there will be a new location next year because there is nothing to do on the island. I am rethinking this CTSO, maybe I will try HOSA. What do you think Healthcare teachers?
Go for it! We actually do a lot of the skills in HOSA that will benefit your students as well. That would be great! Maybe one day you'll have your own club...who knows, maybe you'll be the pioneer of it after all this stuff you are learning at NTI!
ReplyDeleteI think your suggestion of offering more team building exercises for advisers is a great idea. Is there someone with this organization that you can direct your idea(s) to?

ReplyDeleteMortissa! It was nice seeing you at Skills along with Dr. B and Tommy.(
ReplyDeleteI was also there last year but at that time we did not know each other
so we might have seen each other and did not know.) I thought Dr.B was
going to be there for the week-end.
A lot of changes need to be made to skills and changing of the site
will not solve the problems and the same goes for TIEGA. Let me point out
4 problems (a) The security company that was used last year patrol's
the compound, the cops this year watches TV. (b) At breakfast only coffee
no other hot drink for those that does not drink coffee. (c) The
dinner that they charge $8.00 was chicken prepared with fish shake & bake.
(give me a break) The same goes for TIEGA (d)The rooms were not even
cleaned properly. Sending e-mail to these leaders does not work. (trust
me)
POSTED FOR TREVOR
I dont know anything abot HOSA, but I can tell you from my experience, Skills USA isnt all that great. THe only reason most are in it is for the competition. Other than that, theres not much going on in Skills USA.
