One long week
I am back to being overwhelmed again. I had three meetings during my planning this week. If teachers had time to plan think of what we could accomplish. I have been trying to get HOSA going, getting an advisory committee together, registering students for the FLC, working on monthly logs for extended day and we just got a grant to renovate my classroom and lab. I am taking papers home with me this weekend to grade just so maybe Monday I can get my week planned. When I think about all I need to do at work and at home I just want to cry. Maybe next week won't be so hectic. Jamie
It sounds like you are feeling overloaded. Is there any paperwork/school work that could be delegated to a responsible student? Does anyone have any suggestions or strategies to share with Jamie that might lighten her load?
ReplyDeleteThis year is my second year teaching, and it seems to be overwhelming sometimes . this year we are recertifying the program,so there is alot of paperwork to do.I have two students that are interns this year. They are both in the same class and they can help me with class, run errands etc...And after I go over somthing in class and we go to the lab, I can use these students to help with the other students.Although, these interns can't do my paper work, the help that they provide eases the stress of it.Maybe you could pick a couple of students for somthing like that.My Interns were two of my top students last year .
ReplyDeleteJamie I know exactly how you feel. I feel overwhelmed also. We are not just teachers but we are actually running a program. I have been giving some responsiblities to my officers of HOSA it has helped relieve some stress. For example, I had my President of HOSA put in the computer all of the new members of HOSA and their info. That was one thing that I didn't have to do. I hope you have a wonderful week next week.
ReplyDeleteIm in this boat with you. Now im starting to understand why teachers get the summer off. Because its a 190 day a year, 16 hour a day job! But its worth it!
